Retrospective Log:  

SEPTEMBER 1-30, 2023: I am now 2310 Days (approximately: 5 Years, 0 Month, 0 Weeks – LINK) and still maintaining my workout streak.   I have to keep reminding myself to keep this short and to the point.

Physical – As I write this on 1OCT (this is weird, I can’t remember the last time I was able to get this done on the actual date that I should; I always breeze over it and put it off) I am feeling support great.  I am a bit achy, but that the pains of the left arm, my right shoulder and lower right side of the back, has really decrease somewhat.  Obviously, after stress from running or lifting, they become more pronounced, but the intensity of the pain has really gone down.  I have added a couple items to my daily regiment – Berberine, fiber (psyllium husk) and Fish Oil.  I know Berberine has some anti-inflammatory properties, so without taking ibuprofen, I think this might be helping me out quite a bit.  I hit all my planned metrics this month, picking up my Total Calories Burned.  I was able to get most, if not all my run days in.  I think I am gonna start tracking my fasting, but I can always pull that out of my app.  I can’t praise and talk enough about – MyFitnessPal, it is awesome.   It keeps me honest with eating, I need to do an averaging of my calories to see if I am in the right maintenance zone.  I tend to leave over a lot, especially when it adds my calories but for working out.

Financials –  The market is still doing relatively well.  The buzz right now is about a soft landing of the economy.  Inflation is teasing a bit of restraint right now, but with that comes issues with jobs and pay.  We are still waiting to see the price points of basics come back to earth, but I suppose that is or will likely be wishful thinking.

Socio/Political:  

Mark Meadows, Trump’s former Chief of Staff who was indicted along with Trump and several others on the election interference case in Georgia, tried to get trial moved to the Federal courts but was rebuffed.  Trump had jumped on the bandwagon, but jumped back off after Meadows was rebuffed.

House Republicans open impeachment inquiry on President Biden.  It was just a blatant farce.  One does not have to like Dems, or Biden for that matter to see what a naked spectacle this is.

Rep. Boebert, kicked out of theater for playing grab a**, actually grab titty with her boyfriend.  Par for the course, they are moral on they are caught, then they go silent.

Repubs threatened to shutdown the government come midnight 30SEP, but backed off and passed a stop gap measure that will keep the govt. funded until sometime in November I think.   The thing that’s brewing right now is Matt Gaetz threatening to oust McCarthy.  It appears that there is likely a backlash against Gaetz that is coming.  I love it.  Let them eat each other.

World:
Ukraine:  Fight goes on. We are getting to the winter now and so the summer offensive might be nearing its end.  Ukraine in recent days, attacked a Russian outpost, I believe on the Black Sea, killing the commander of the fleet.  There is some deliberations about it, so we are not really sure.

Azerbaijan – Armenia: Azerbaijan attacked and overwhelmed Armenia over the breakaway republic of Nagorno Karabakh.  Now there are reports of ethnic cleansing of Armenians from that location.  Quite a bit of interesting history here given they were former Soviet republics.      

Eastern Libya: Rains from a storm overwhelmed a couple dams resulting in the floodings of downstream populated areas.  Death too in the thousands.  Even now, several weeks later, there is much to be done.  It appears that the government did not warned people of the weather event that caused the dams to burst, thereby inundating the low lying areas downstream.

North Korea: Kim went to Russia and now declared that he was fully supporting Putin

 

Goals:
Spanish –  Continuing my study streak since 9AUG2022.  I have made some significant gains, given the fact that I have been marching in place over the last few months.  I am now caught up with my review stack and will now be pressing the offensive.  I hope to report at the ned of October that I am well pass the end of Level 3.  Drops also continues to pull me in the right direction.  I am still enjoying both.

DareBee
Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare.  My focus right now is lifting and getting stronger, so I have limited my the scope of my workout to cover as much in short a time as possible.

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
